We have a range of rootballed Niwaki trees available for purchase now, and a smaller number of potted trees. We have grown and nurtured these ourselves over several years, with regular pruning, training and tree management techniques all in the Niwaki philosophy. These trees are available from late October through to March as root balled plants.

ITEM 1: Luma apiculata (SOLD)
Description: shiny dark green aromatic leaves, cinnamon coloured bark, flowers late summer (white), attractive for bees
Specs: 2m in height (not including pot) Pot size 60l, cloud pruned.
History: we have been pruning this tree in the Niwaki style 2-3 times annually for approximately 6 years, along with annual undercutting to ensure a compact rootball.
Recommended location/soil type: moderately sheltered with full sun to partial shade, free-draining soil

ITEM 2: Holm oak (SOLD)
Description: dark evergreen leaves, traditionally clipped late summer
Specs: 2m in height (not including pot) Pot size 60l, cloud pruned.
History: we have been pruning this tree in the Niwaki style 2-3 times annually for approximately 8 years, along with annual undercutting to ensure a compact rootball.
Recommended location/soil type: suitable for coastal planting, best on free-draining soil, full sun to partial shade
